Daisy D,

Thank you for such a kind review! Caz and our other guides really are the perfect teachers because that wrote the book that is Hip-Hop history. Glad you were able to see it firsthand!

“A MUST if you're in New York”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

This is hands down one of the best tour I've ever been on in my life. Grandmaster Caz was an amazing tour guide and kept things live the whole time. There were many great stops of legendary spots and landmarks on the tour. If you have any sort of interest in hip-hop culture this tour is a MUST! I would highly recommend this your over other tourist attractions in NYC. An overall amazing experience that was also very reasonably priced.

“Well spendt 4 hours!”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

We where five friends who signed up for this tour, not exactly knowing what we signed up for. After a few minutes listening to our guide, Grandmaster Caz, we realized that this was going to be four fab hours. Grandmaster Caz is a true entertainer, both verbally on a tour like this and as a writer. We had a wonderful time and the tour was one of the highlights of our trip to NY.

Lars S,

Amazing review! One of the best parts of our Hush experiences is that even if you don't know what's in store, it will surely be an adventurous 4 hour ride. So thrilled you and your group had such a great time.

“The Un-Tour, Tour”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

I enjoyed this experience with my 13 year old son, and we both enjoyed it completely.

Neither of us are hard core hop hop fans, but we both have an interest in the urban history of the movement and we both wanted to get an insiders view of Harlem and The Bronx - we certainly got that. Our tour guide Grandmaster Caz could not avoid getting salutations from the run of the mill New Yorkers who resided in the neighbourhoods we stopped in - as easy as it would be to pass off a tour guide's credibility to a bunch of tourists, this guy was clearly legitimate.

He was also funny, engaging, and passionate and in our tour's opening Q&A ("what are the 4 legs to the Hip Hop's metaphorical table?"), did not accept plagiaristic or uncreative responses from his paying customers - I'm going to call that New York Attitude, and it was fun to be around.

The biggest Hip Hop fan on the tour may well have been our driver John, whom you could tell completely enjoyed hearing the various urban tunes being played in our very comfortable and warm (NYC at the freezing point, in a wind - cold!) mini-bus. He did a great job navigating us and directing us personally as pedestrians once we strolled.

The young man (whose name I can't remember - sorry!) who acted as our logistics manager (e.g. signed us in at the start of the tour, helped usher us in / out of the bus) was very friendly and helpful and proved himself to be a credible MC (in the hip hop sense) as we made our way back to Midtown.

I had high expectations for this tour and they were met - thank you for a great experience.

KLCalgary,

These are the responses we love to read, hearing that you and your 13 year old son were able to mutually enjoy the Hush experience despite being hardcore Hip-Hop heads. You hit the nail on the head, all of our staff truly loves this culture and dedicates their time to spreading the wealth of knowledge. Hope to have you back again!

“Sedgwick Ave y'all ”
Reviewed March 27, 2014 via mobile

This tour was great, from the get-go our guide Grandmaster Caz was very entertaining, engaging and informative; if you're after a sedate tour just looking to the left and right this isn't the one for you, it was quite interactive and we even did some break dancing in Spanish Harlem which was a laugh!

I signed up for this tour of course because I love hip hop but also to see a bit of areas such as Harlem and the Bronx as if I went myself I wouldn't know where to start.
If you're looking at this page you're obviously thinking about doing this tour - do it, it is good fun and will show you some parts of town that you normally wouldn't get to with a man who is clearly a bit of a legend in these parts judging by the shout outs he was getting from randoms on the street. Enjoy!

Jamesz684,

Great review! You're quite right that this tour isn't for those seeking the mundane experience of peeking through bus windows. Glad you were able to see some of those areas that may be have gone unseen otherwise; hope to have you back next time you're in NYC!
