Description: Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality

Twenty-five years ago we had Sunday brunch at the Palm Court. We are back in New York celebrating our anniversary and decided to revisit the restaurant. When calling for reservations, the host asked if we were there for a special occasion (which I thought was a nice touch), so I told her. The Plaza Hotel and the Palm Court are not nearly as spectacularly decorated for the holidays like the old times, and the food selection is not nearly as lavish, but this setting for a lazy Sunday brunch is hard to beat. Our wait staff was top notch, the continental buffet was perfect (the pastries were outstanding, the fruit very fresh, for example), and at the end of the meal our waiter presented my wife with a special dessert plate with Happy 25th Anniversary written on the plate with melted chocolate frosting. A very nice ending to a wonderful meal.

I had the most beautiful afternoon tea - the chocolate lovers one!

Chocolate cakes, scones and a selection to dip into chocolate fondue!

This was great value at $60 and also included a drink!

My daughter and I went for afternoon tea at The Plaza after a day of shopping. It was a wonderful treat. The service was excellent and the lunch was delicious. Hot tea was never ending which was perfect. Everything about the experience made you feel very special. There was so much food we had to take backthe leftovers back to our hotel with us for later. Which just extended the whole wonderful experience.

Fariz our server was outstanding. Attentive, gracious and classy. We enjoyed high tea, Fitzgerald, New Yorker and Chocolate tea all of which were amazing. Tea service was wonderful. Just to sit and enjoy some time in such decadent surroundings was worth the price, it was a great experience.
