Description: After nearly 30 years in their midtown location, China Grill is making its downtown premier for a limited run at Asia de Cuba on Lafayette Street. Heralded as a pioneer of fusion cuisine at its 1987 debut, China Grill’s Asian–Inspired World Cuisine led diners on an imaginative culinary journey inspired by Marco Polo’s travels along the Silk Road—fusing Asian and European flavors and techniques. Portions are generous, dramatically presented, and meant to be shared family style. Menu standouts include Lobster Pancakes, Crackling Calamari Salad, Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice & Lamb Spareribs. If you’ve never experienced China Grill before, we hope you'll join us during this limited run; and if you've been to China Grill before, we'd love to welcome you back to our new (temporary) home.

We come here every time we come to NYC.
It’s not a great restaurant to look at and it doesn’t have great vibe but the service is good and the food is great.
The Duck Salad to start is a must. Fresh. Full of Duck. Beautifully balanced dressing. We always have it. And so did most of the tables around us.
After that, it depends on what you like.
Every dish we have had has been great.
Our daughter is a vegetarian and the Mushroom Pasta is delicious as are the Wokked vegetables.
The servings are huge so be careful not to over order. The food is too tasty to leave on the plate.

Yep... Drunken Chicken is not to be missed. Wonderful lunch and convenient to MOMA.
Bus boy was a little lax but the waitress was quite charming.

My title says it all. I followed a friend's advice and we met here for lunch on a weekday. It is a popular lunch choice for business people and I can see why: the service is efficient and the food is excellent. Prices were good, especially considering that the plates are large enough to easily share. The Asian-fusion menu often seemed to be classics with a twist. We shared the Duck Fried Rice and it was wonderful -- generous pieces of duck so you really tasted it, but not overly greasy which can sometimes be a problem with duck. We paired that with what turned out to be a perfect compliment, the Confucius Chicken Salad. I don't know exactly what is in it, but it tasted light, crisp and refreshing.

My friend said that the portion sizes have been reduced recently (and the prices were also reduced a bit) but we had plenty in sharing those two lunch choices. This restaurant is just across the street from MoMA. It would be great for visitors to the city who want a break from museums and walking and are seeking a nice meal in an interesting atmosphere. I will definitely be back because there were lots of things on the menu that sounded interesting.

The menu is Asian Fusion. We had the Lobster Pancake and the Drunken Chicken. Both excellent. Very good service and atmosphere.

While in New York, staying at Hilton Midtown, I walked by this restaurante a block away and became curious. So went there for dinner. Wow, great food! And the traditional caramelized banana from Chinese restaurants, is not ordinary at all. Best desert I ever ate at a Chinese place. Great food. Great location!
