The Modern has certainly earned its place as one of New York City's finest restaurants. The menu is as inspired as the fabulous artwork hanging in MoMA. Right from the start, when you taste the chef's signature "Eggs on Eggs on Eggs" you know you are about to enjoy a spectacular meal. Everything was perfectly prepared with outstanding balance of amazing flavors. As you would expect, the level of service is matches the excellent food. Following the lead of other top restaurants in NYC, The Modern is a "tip included" which removes the question at the end of the meal of "how should I reward such a fine dining experience?" Overall we had a perfect dinner at The Modern and would recommend it to anyone looking to dine at one of Manhattan's best restaurants.

I stay at the Baccarat across the street so I go to the Modern a lot...sometimes four times per week. I usually sit at the benches near the bar. I really like relaxed seating and dining. I’ve been to the fancy part in the back many times but I’m more of a near the bar type of guy. I’ve eaten most if not all of the items on the menu. They are all delicately prepared with high attention to detail. I love the new endive salade. The beef is simply great, much better than a plain hunk of steak.

Whoever, buys the wine on their list really knows what they are doing. Their list is simply incredible. I prefer Bordeaux pre 1990 and I must say that for an American restaurant the quality of the wines is astounding. I live in Europe and so I’m often skeptical of the wines in US restaurants, particularly when sourced from auction houses. I’ve had fine wine here for 15 years and have never had to send a bottle back.

I love the fact that the service fees are built in and shared with back of the house. I wish every restaurant was like this.

The food is inventive and we'll balanced, the drinks are wonderful and the service impeccable. Its also very aesthetic Ally pleasing and has a great, low key vibe. You can have a full course meal,a few a la carte items or just a drink/coffee/tea,and they will treat you with the same degree of hospitality. Great spot.

We had a late lunch in the bar room. On the bar menu is an option for a fried chicken bucket and champagne (bucket & bubbly) which was insanely good. The chicken was so tasty, the Parmesan fries were brilliant and the champagne was delicious. The staff were lovely, the place was very trendy and overall we had an awesome time. Would highly recommend!

We had the best meal of our lives here! We were celebrating our anniversary and did the Chef's tasting menu. It was phenomenal, pair with an amazing sparkling wine, and they accommodated my gluten allergy perfectly!
