Overlooking the courtyard when you're sitting in the restaurant it is easy to forget your location is midtown. The lunch tasting menu offers just enough selection to please any guest while still enabling the staff to expertly prepare and beautifully plate their delicious courses. The wine selection is also outstanding.

When I went there with my family, we chose a seven-plate menu and it was a great choice. We had to choose four plates and three were chosen by the chef. Both plates were fantastic! A one of my favourites was the egg yolk with the bread and the caviar. Great combination! The dessert ( I chose one with the passion fruite) was really good. The food that you expect from a 2 stars restaurant! I like so much the place, “modern” and very fine. The service was very good.

Unique atmosphere for a dining experience...really great food and outstanding bar. The Modern should be on the "must visit" places on any trip to NYC!!

We chose to dine at the kitchen table to celebrate our 10year wedding anniversary and what a great decision it turned out to be.
We were treated like royalty from the moment we entered the restaurant. Every member of staff we encountered congratulated us on our anniversary and were so helpful in answering any questions we had, as well as informing us about the workings of the kitchen itself.

The food is exactly what you expect for a 2 Michelin star rated restaurant- fresh, innovative and most importantly absolutely divine (my favorite was eggs on eggs on eggs, and the extra brioche sticks we were given!).

It really was an experience we will never forget and we are so thankful to the staff at The Modern for making our day so memorable.

My partner booked this place for our second night in New York as a special treat and I was completely blown away. Everything about this place is spectacular - from the decor, the bar, the menu and the staff. The 3-course menu was divine and our waiter Adam really made our night! It’s a shame it’s a no tip restaurant as he truly went above and beyond to make us feel looked after. Would recommend this place to any NYC travellers!
