I was very impressed with the food @ MoMA. The squash soup was outstanding and for a cafeteria style seating area I was very happy with the people, service and above all the food. Definitely worth the trip 7 expense.

From the first encounter with the staff, you know that this is a premium restaurant - so polite, thorough and professional. The food on the set lunch was incredible - 4 plates of deliciousness, plus an amuse bouche and coffee and petit fours. All courses were fantastic and we left happy customers.

This is a place where you book. Arriving without a reservation usually means a wait and there was a crowd around the hostess station when we arrived over the Easter weekend. With a reservation we had a table near the windows and the garden; result.
The menu is interesting - although the concept seems to confuse people. Certainly enough that the table next to us got into a protected debate about whether they needed to pay the stated supplement for one of the dishes. It was clear, but the waiter waived the charge.
Food portions aren't huge but well executed. Service is fine, although a little on the aggressive side. We hadn't been at the table but ten minutes when the bottled water was being drained into our glasses and the question asked if another was required.
What is eye catching here is the price of the wine. The wine list is excellent but the prices are crazy - even by the glass. With the three course menu, a glass of cremant each and one coffee we had a bill just under $200. Not cheap.
This was a lovely lunch and the surroundings are excellent, but the prices for the drink suggest a level of quality and luxury that the room doesn't meet.
So good food, a pleasant room but prices that dissuade one from visiting too often. And the hostesses, whenever I have been there, seem hassled and rather less than pleasant. Not a good introduction to the dining experience.

Thsi is one of the restaurants visited around NY with the best attention. All details are programmed with your visit. The lights, the food, the people make your moment very special. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The Dining Room is business formal and the Bar Room is much more casual. Service is impeccable and attentive. The dishes are beautiful and creative - our amuse bouche was a playful take on split pea soup with whipped sturgeon. The Roasted Foie Gras and Diver Scallop is a MUST HAVE and the pistachio chicken is also pretty amazing. I know this isn't the star of the show but the bread basket of house-made sourdough and raisin bread was awesome.

Dessert incorporates molecular gastronomy so it's fine combining the different ingredients, textures and flavors but I'm still a cake/candy kind of girl.
