Didn't get to go inside but amazing window display. Just need a few million bucks to get in the front door. Enjoyed the displays.

View all art and objects for the next auctions.
Estimated prices are shown with each item - an art gallery with prices, great.

Many items from estimated $500 to many millions. You can also attend the auction. Many bidders from around the world are on telephones placing bids.

The web site tells about upcoming auctions with preview days and the auction day.

Christies is part of the Rockefeller Center buildings. Easy to find.

I confess: I knew that the million dollar Breughal(spelling?)was out of my reach, as were the Derains and Basquiats. Still, for the price of some shoe leather, I entered this bright salon of spectacular contemporary design and entered a dream world of possibilities,if only I had been an heiress or Lottery winner, perhaps I could show up on auction night or day and outbid others for the little Klee or one of the Offerings from the Leonardo diCaprio Foundation? BTW, who knew he had a foundation devoted to the arts?
Just to walk around and people watch is fun: Is that a Baroness scrutinizing the Rodin sclpture? Ore French "tires Jolie" uttered by a mesmerized Frenchman, taken by the spirited Breughal wedding scene?
And a lecture about the D'Orsay museum, to boot! There a
also was gratis champers, if all of this fabulousness was not enough. Probably just for pre-auction viewing only, alas. Still, a good place, centrally located. I am only sorry I did not attend the auction, which is open to all...

Little know fact- the preview galleries are open to the public every day for viewing of the upcoming pieces for auction. The feel is like a museum/gallery. Fun to poke around and see some fun art pieces!

I went to Christies to view an auction of English pewter. What a beautiful well run auction house with friendly, helpful staff. When I came out Ricky Martin was doing a street concert! How wonderful. Greetings from France
