“Absolutely beautiful”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

If you want to walk down by the Hudson river away from the city this is a nice way to do so. Do not rush. Before do so, visit St Paul's Chapel and the Riverside Church, do not miss the campus of Columbia University and then walk by the river to the south. Enjoy.

“A beautiful day for a "ride in the park"”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

To me it's a "must do" NYC experience to ride the bike path at Riverside Park, from around 145th all the way to battery park and back. It's about 10 miles(one way) of very easy riding along the Hudson River down to Battery Park. For the more experienced riders, continue on through the financial district and over the Brooklyn Bridge and back. You can return the same way or vary it a little by taking the Manhattan Bridge back and then onto the bike path along the Hudson river to where you began. Total ride for me this day was 25 miles of incredible sights along the waterfront and into downtown Manhattan. the views are incredible of the skyline growing ever larger as you approach downtown. Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty in the distance and the ride over the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges affords views not seen any other way. There are plenty of places to stop to refresh yourself and take in the views. So, weather you bring your own ride or rent a citybike - "just do it"! It can be one of your most memorable experiences of the city!

“Hudson Beach a neighborhood/insider respite along the Hudson River”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

Walking into Riverside Park around 103rd Street leads to the Green Space along the Hudson River with welcoming pathways, Volleyball Nets, a terraced restaurant: Hudson Beach providing a shady spot with tables and casual, wait service. Beautiful old trees in the park and turn of the century architecture in the buildings around Riverside Drive.

Hudson Beach is a largely, local hang-out for a quiet place that still has charm, and a view across the Hudson with boat traffic and simple people watching.

The Hudson Beach Cafe serves simple snacks and burgers at moderate prices, beer, ordinary wine and soft drinks. Food is OK but the setting makes a stop here VERY worthwhile; service to about 10:00 PM in summer.

“Tranquility on the UWS”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

As must see attraction in NYC, Riverside park is a multilevel garden oasis on the hudson river. Easily accessible from the 1-2-3 line, this park is somewhat of a hidden gem, relative to it's counterpart (central park). Lots to do, many bike/walking paths, and plenty of room to hang out and watch the boats on the river.
