I can identify with the other reviews good and bad...but seeing the Dave Letterman show was just fun. Sure they herd everyone like cattle and it takes up a pretty large chunk of time, but it is just interesting to see how things are done behind the scenes. My surprise was the security!!! It was almost an airport type ordeal with a bomb-sniffing dog who checked my shopping bag. We were "interviewed" briefly as well as ID's checked and recorded and then we were asked to take packages back to hotel and carry only small purses...which were searched. Otherwise, just a nice time after all the hoop-la to get in and get pumped up for the experience. And we got to the Hello Deli guy who also sells the souvenirs after the show!

If you can get tickets, don't pass it up, AWESOME experience, even if you aren't a diehard Letterman fan (although I am) you'd still love it.

Sure it's free, but this is the worst thing we did in 10 days in New York. First of all, we could not see a thing, too much equipment in the way. took 4 hours, of which you see Letterman maybe 20 minutes. Music is so loud I had to plug my ears. If you absolutely love Letterman and are willing to be treated like cattle for 4 hours, go for it.

THis was fun all around. We had put our names in "on line" to be chosen for the show. The show called after our vacation had started, but we were easily able to fit in a couple of nights in NYC. Historic theater, great atmosphere. It is important to know you will spend about 4 hours in all when you attend the Letterman Show. They have you come early to check your identification, then send you away for an hour, then you come back about an hour before the show. Well worth the "passive kidnapping" as Dave would say.

Great staff, lots of fun. Be prepared to stand in line. If you sit in the balcony you can use restrooms at commercial breaks. It is chilly so bring a sweater.
