“Worth the $4.50 Return Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Returning back from Dangerfields Comedy Club and walking to stretch off a long sit in small booths from 1969. WE came upone the entrance to the tram. There was no inital plan but decided to take the trip across and back to view the skyline and be able to say we did it: CHECK. This is one of the least expensive attractions in NYC and worth ever penny. For most it is a transportation method and nothing more. For the tourist it is an attraction. Seeing the city from a bird's eye view and looking down at the buildings, streets and lights was amazing. The tram is smooth and clean. Cool late night ride. Made the trip at 12:00 am.

“Frequent service, great views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

This is a treat -- the service is great if you are just interested in transportation, but if you also want a great scenic view, it's worth the low price. Nothing bad to say about it!

“Beautiful view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

Make a short stop to take the aerial tram to Roosevelt Island.

You will have a beautiful view of the 1st Ave, York Ave, East River and the Queensboro Bridge and you can use your MTA ticket for the ride.

Don't forget to take the camera along with you for great shots.

“Good alternative view of the skyline”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Take the cable car- for this is what it is, despite being called a tram- get off on Roosevelt Island, then take a walk down the riverside path for great views and picture opportunities. Then get back on the cable car and return to Manhattan. Job done, five dollars return using your metro card.

“A tram....big deal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

This boring little ride doesn't do anything except take you to Roosevelt Island....a little island in the middle of the East River, where middle class people live. There is nothing to do on Roosevelt Island except get back on the tram and return to second ave. If you want to try the ride, go ahead, it only costs one subway fare each way...but don't expect much
