“A tram....big deal”

This boring little ride doesn't do anything except take you to Roosevelt Island....a little island in the middle of the East River, where middle class people live. There is nothing to do on Roosevelt Island except get back on the tram and return to second ave. If you want to try the ride, go ahead, it only costs one subway fare each way...but don't expect much

This is only a short ride, but it provides a super quick access to the island. While travelling across you can see the amazing manhattan skyline as well as the ocean below. I thought it was great. This is also part of the NYC transit, so you can use your passes to also ride the tram. I highly reccomend it. Be sure to check out the island on arrival- it's super cute. So quiet and peaceful and just minutes from the hustle and bussle of manhattan.

Definitely a ride to take to and from Roosevelt Island. Great views, comfortable ride and cheap. I used this for my commute to and from Manhattan and would prefer this over subway. Very efficient and operates daily from early morning to early morning.

This is a good and relatively cheap way to get another view of the city and is great fun. The ride is short and you stand in one big tram/cable car, while the attendant operates it. There's no commentary, but then this is really just another form of transport meant for the residents of Roosevelt Island, so I don't see why there should be! We were determined to have a go on it, but sadly we chose to do it on our last day and the whole city was shrouded in fog/mist. Undeterred, we still made the trip and the 'unfavourable' weather conditions actually gave me some of my best photos of the holiday - very atmoshpheric. So, make sure you go whatever the weather conditions - it's a great experience whatever the weather!!!

Took this ride across the river. Went at night, very different view of the. Some commentary would be nice, in saying that the operator was friendly.
