Russian Vodka Room is directly across the street from Russian Samovar, another hangout for expats, tourists and Russophiles. RS has a bit of an older crowd, more old-line Russians, while RVR has a younger crowd of New Russians and more Americans. The food here is no better than RS, just OK. Sometimes gets very crowded, especially on Russian holidays. There's a pianist but no dancing; the place is very small and cramped. People shuttle back and forth to RS. OK if you take the two bars together as an experience of a Russian corner of New York.
