Description: La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversized iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The 250-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

“Best ever!!”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

This restaurant is quite frankly sheer class and I cannot praise it high enough.......completely and utterly faultless!

From terrific authentic Italian food, great service from a highly competent waiting staff, all in a beautiful restaurant with the most amazing ambience. You really need to do yourself a favour by visiting and eating in La Masseria and if you are staying a bit away from 48th St then the journey there will be well worth it let me assure you.

I can only find words to say that this is the best restaurant that we have ate in anywhere at anytime.

Tip: Make sure that you book this place well in advance.

Well done the owners and staff of this restaurant.

“Delicious pasta”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

I ordered the homemade pasta with smoked mozzarella and eggplant! Superb! From the flavored to the texture of the pasta...everything was great. It's something I'm going to be craving and wishing I lived closer to! The service is very good as well.

“Like a quick trip to Italy”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

The ingredients are fresh & authentically Italian; this was my second visit and it remains superbly Italian. Had stuffed zucchini blossoms which were fragrant, delicate & fresh; the veal milanese is exactly as it is in Milan. Others had beef carpaccio-superbly fresh and melt-in-your-mouth like butter; minestrone: tasty fresh vegetables; bur rata: brought in from Italy; gnocchi: light and delicately delicious; whole bronzino (mediterranean bass) which was appropriately brought to the table and then filleted. Tiramisu also excellent. The wine list is good, not over the top. I am from Florence, and this is as close as I have found in NYC.

“Very enjoyable evening”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

relaxed atmosphere but excellent service. Dinner was pretty good, but be sure and ask the price of the specials before ordering as the bill caught me by surprise. Very conveniently located for pre or post theater.
