“EXCELLENT service, Good food”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

The service was impeccable and they served FREE cookies at the end of the meal as well as free brittle at the door. What? Free? Are they trying to kill their desert sales?

What a great evening we had. The food was great. The service was spot-on.

Great pre-show spot!

“Way Overpriced”
Reviewed January 5, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

The food is good but the prices are astronomical. Go two blocks west to Ninth Avenue for a myriad of Italian restaurants offering food as good (if not better) and better service at much better prices.

“Surprisingly good for Times Square”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

New Yorkers know that Times Sq is for tourists, so we are suspicious about the local eateries. Bond 45 was a surprise as it was right off the busy crossroads, but delightful.

Occupying much of the old Bond Mens Clothing store, this cavernous space has an authentic "old NY" feel. The maitre d' seated us quickly but was charming and talkative. The menu was extensive and the service, fine.

But the food... that was the surprise! It was great, from the vegetable antipasto platter ($21 for three of about 6 choices), the soups, pastas and pizzas. The roasted potatoes were to die for. The portions were large enough to share and priced accordingly.

Which brings us to this fine dining establishment's only negative: it's expensive. Lunch for three (without alcohol) was $150. But the meal was unhurried and delightful. We will be back.

“HUGE portions of inventive Italian comfort food!”
Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

Went before a Broadway show and they were great about getting us out on time, as requested.

Ordered one caesar salad -- one of the best we'd ever had, but had to ask for extra croutons (which were really yummy), as they only gave us five on a huge salad.

Followed this with one order of their signature lasagna, which is massive. Only negatives to this otherwise outstanding dish was too little sauce and the edges of it were actually cold -- it's open face -- but we discovered why while walking out of the restaurant when we saw a row of this dishes prepped with the noodles and no sauce yet. They were sitting out on the counter under no heat lamp or anything to keep them warm. Come on, folks, you're professionals! Do it right.

Finally, the Brussels sprouts are not worth ordering, as they were mushy and overcooked. These obviously had been sitting around for awhile.

We would definitely like to go back and try other dishes -- some of them truly are inventive Italian "home cooking".

“One great restaurant right on Times Square”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

We were a party of 7 looking for a place to eat at dinner time. We included a 5 year old and a vegan. This restaurant easily accommodated everyone.

And the food - the food was excellent. A great mix of meat and vegetable offerings originally prepared and well presented. Our waiter was always present but never rushed us.

We will definitely go back to this place when next we visit New York.
