“An Experience!”

We (2 couples) had a fun time at this restaurant, much better then we expected. The food was plentiful and delicious; we knew to share from various platters, although the waiter hadn't told us in advance. We had made a reservation, arrived on time and were quickly taken to our table. But the downsides were 1) the service - it was hard to get a waiter to come to the table and hardly ever the same one twice! and 2) the noise! Don't go there to plan your next day in NYC or discuss the day's adventures!

“Excellent Food and Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

Tried Tony's DiNapoli on a recent Friday before a cruise. The hostess quoted a 30 minute wait at 7:00 pm but advised us to stay close becuase it could be shorter. It was about five minutes until we were taken to a nice table. Server recommended we split one appetizer and one entree and it was more than enough for the two of us. Unfortunately, we couldn't take the leftovers. It looked like everyone around us were regulars, because they new exactly what they wanted. All the dishes we saw looked good.

“What an atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

Tony's is a big, busy, bustling, delicious Italian restaurant just off Times Square and right next door to our hotel, The Casablanca.
The atmosphere is amazing & the service is efficient and friendly. The food is excellent but as others have said you need to share the dishes as each plate of food has sufficient for 2 ( or 3 with smaller appetites) diners. We loved it but decided the best experience would be to go as part of a big group so you get the chance to enjoy a variety of dishes.

“Excellent Italian near Times Square (no, really)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

Went for dinner with a buddy of mine last week, I rolled my eyes at first when he told me the neighborhood, but I must say I was truly blown away by this place. Bread, cheese and olives came out first, a really nice touch. I am picky about olives but these did the job just fine. Starters were fried calamari and shrimp fra diavolo, standard New York Italian fare done to perfection, and for mains we had a chicken parmigiana and an excellent seafood pasta with tons of shrimp, calamari rings, and squid ink linguini. My friend ordered it and I didn't think I would like it, but I ended up eating most of this!! An enormous Strawberry shortcake for dessert was a great way to finish. Since it was just us 2 dudes we sat at the bar and the bartender (Dan?) seemed an all-around perfect bartender: quick and a bit chatty, but not too much...just right.

There are many Italian joints in midtown, but this seems to be good bang for your buck, definitely if you're already in the neighborhood and maybe even worth a trip. I'll be back.

“Great for families”

Way too much food for two inexperienced diners in the family style of shared plates. However, the food was excellent and the servers very friendly.
