Fresh sushi and friendly staff. Small restaurant but cosy. Waitress willing to suggest many current choices. Out table was just too close to a noise kitchen

We sat at the sushi bar for a quick bite before leaving for home. The tuna, snapper and sea urchin sushi was perfect! We also had a few basic rolls so we wouldn't miss the freshness of the fish. Fantastic! Very easy to miss if you are walking by. Service was very efficient and friendly.
One of the best sushi restaurants in New York. Relaxing atmosphere and great service. High recommended.
Not the typical place you'd go in by chance. However, They have many many types of sushi with many ingredients and they are all excellent. The staff is also very nice and friendly. The location itself is not very pretty though but price-quality relation is great!
We even came twice in the same week during our trip. If you sit at the front, you can even see how the sushi is being prepared. Would DEFINITELY recommend this place to all sushi-lovers.
Our recommended sushi rolls: dinosaure, rainbow and panda. Panda is a little spicy though.
Staying at the 31 Hotel, we recognized after an exhausting walk through NY, in direct neighborhood is umi sushi, supposed to be a small restaurant, but the extreme friendly, helpful staff lead you through lot of rooms, filled with sushi dining people. At the end there was a beautiful site, like a beergarden, where you can seat quiet under the sky of NY, sight to the Empire State Building-and eating the best sushi ever!
