Owner description: The Rockefeller Center Tour celebrates the rich history and exciting presence of New York's architectural jewel. The center was the ambitious vision of a young John D. Rockefeller and hosts more than 100 breathtaking works of art. In addition to housing NBC, Radio City Music Hall and Christie's Auction House, Rockefeller Plaza is also the home of the world-famous skating rink visited by more than half a million people every year.

Not really that into organised tours but we liked the sound of this one so we gave it a go, it was very interesting and our guide Lyndsey was lovely she involved all the group and made for an hour well spent. The views from the top of the rock are amazing even on a day where the weather is a bit dull.

My husband and I toured the Rockefeller Center with Helga a couple of days ago and it was the best tour we did in New York. Helga was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we came away from the tour with a much greater appreciation of the whole centre and the remarkable Rockefeller family. Even the in-laws were amazing (eg Junior's wife). Prior to the tour we went to the Top of the Rock, which is also well worth doing. The views from there are better than from the much busier Empire State Building as they are less obstructed (glass instead of fences). You're also much closer to Central Park so can see it much better. All round, a GREAT way to spend half a day!! We bought a New York Pass so both were covered by the Pass.

The tour was the best one we did whilst in New York, made by our tour guide Kim Rancourt who was very knowledgable, witty and kept us engaged for an hour and a half! The time flew by and we were able to see beautiful art and architecture around the center. I still remember most of the facts and we even ventured back the next day to have another look at what we had seen.
I would highly recommend this tour as there is so much to see and the history of the center is so interesting. I didn't realise how much went on around the center.
I would like to say a big thank you to Kim for making our experience so enjoyable!!!

The only negative thing about The Top Of The Rock is the very poor signage of The Rockefeller Center, so non existent that it seems they dont want you to go up...maybe that is why it was quiet up there, few could locate the proper entrance.
BUT, when you do get to the TOP, wow, what a view, day or night a fantastic experience.

The tour covers the history of the Rockefeller Center and then the art and architecture of the complex. C(ee?) Patrick was an excellent guide, extremely funny and knowledgeable, I can see remember all the facts imparted about John D. Rockefeller Jnr! The tour ends with a trip to the top and some of the most amazing views of Manhattan and beyond, you can get. I booked online and everything ran like clockwork, I cannot recommend it more if you're interested in this landmark development.
