Owner description: The first and most famous studio tour in television history is now better than ever. It's more in depth. More interactive. And, above all, more fun. You’ll enjoy behind-the-scenes access to the studios where your favorite shows are made. Like Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers and more. An NBC Page will serve as your host and behind-the-scenes expert, guiding you through the historic halls of 30 Rock. You’ll learn about the entire TV production process, from the writing process and producing to the ways TV content gets to your home. You’ll then experience it all first hand as you and your fellow Tour guests produce your own show in our brand new Tour Studio. You can then download your show to keep for free.

“Great way to see the behind the scenes of TV shows”

Took my son in for his 13th birthday and decided to be NJ tourists in NY. This tour was amazing and our pages "guides" were very professional and filled with a plethora of information about any show we asked them about. We toured the SNL studio, Late night with Jimmy Fallon, and Evening news with Brian Williams/Rock Center. We were surprised to see how small the SNL studio was in comparison to what you see on TV, but it was awesome none the less. I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting NYC.

“Not really worth the wait”

Our tour guides were friendly ... There just wasn't that much to see in three empty studios. If they would have added a personality meet & greet, it would have been more fun.

“Short Tour - Only worth it for a real NBC fan”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

This is billed as a one hour tour but more than half that time is used up watching an overlong NBC highlights reel and then going through an airport-like security point. Teenagers and younger will not recognize much from the highlights.

I am not a big fan of Saturday Night Live and have never watched Jimmy Fallon so the interesting part of seeing those studios were the technical aspects of producing the shows that were explained to us. (Script development, shooting schedule etc). At the network control centre we essentially looked through a window but got no explanation of how it functions.

At $24/person I thought this was too expensive for what amounts to 25 minutes of actual information about the studios.

Tips:
Go to the desk a day in advance to book the tour time you want.
Use the restroom before the tour - there are no breaks along the way.
No photography allowed.
Young children will be bored.

“Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

We went on this tour on June 30, 2013. It was a good tour for a first-time visitor although not something you'd do a second time.

It started with a 10-minute video reviewing past NBC shows which was kind of neat, then they showed us a newsroom, Jimmy Fallon's studio and the Saturday Night Live studio. They are much smaller than they look on TV! The tour guides had a lot of facts and answered a lot of questions, which interesting to listen to and learn about. However, they didn't know how to show us how the lights worked nor cameras. I thought that would be interesting to see. I've visited Universal Studios in Los Angeles and we got to see moving cars for movies, but there was nothing like that here. Of course, this studio was a lot smaller than Universal's.

The last part of the tour was another newsroom where they asked for two volunteers who could read English. These volunteers got to read off a newscast and be recorded; I thought it was a bit unfair that only these two volunteers got that opportunity.

Still an interesting way to spend 70 mins for $24 and be able to visit NBC Studios in New York though!

“Awesome tour for any NBC fan!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

This tour was fantastic. The page's that lead them do a great job and make it a fun experience. If you are a NBC fan like me, it will mean a little more. It is exciting to see the studio where Brian Williams does the nightly News, Jimmy Fallon's studio, and the iconic studio where Saturday Night Live is shot. Tour lasts about an hour and is $24, but I believe you can get a discounted rate if you buy a city pass. The only down side is there is no photography on the tour:(
