“Simple and very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2012

Had lunch at sushi bar at 2pm. Place was empty. I ordered only sushi nigiri, which was very fresh and good. This place is unpretentious and simple with typical menu items. I'd recommend it for lunch or quick dinner. If you're trying to impress, probably better places to go.

“NYC's Best Sushi. Seriously.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2012

Sakura Hana is easily the best of the best in New York... the quality of the food, from the fish to their homemade fried ice cream(yes, really), is flat out spectacular. Beyond this, the staff is simply the best - friendly, courteous, and as fun as you want to be, they'll make you feel at home. Have a large party? Reserve the back room - you can get wild without bothering anybody. Aren't sure what to order? Give them an idea of what you like, and they'll dish you up something incredible... or just tell the chef you want what Ben usually gets - they'll know what to do.

“Great Sushi and Floyd is the best.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2010

Though it may not be as fancy as some of the others the fish here is great and Floyd gives the place a personal touch that cant surpassed. I should go here much more often!

“No Reason To Eat At Any Other Sushi Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2009

I live around the corner from this awesome place and I can't say enough positive things about it. First of all, the chef, Floyd, is quite possibly one of the best humans on earth. Secondly, it is extremely well priced with plenty of variety - try the special for 2. Finally, the sushi quality is absolutely top notch. My girlfriend is the sushi snob of all snobs and she swears it's as good or better than Nobu, Sushi Samba or places you'll pay 5X as much. I'm just a person who likes to eat and it's damn good. Just felt like I needed to say that!

“What a mistake!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2009

I was NOT at all impressed by this place. First of all, the service was terrible - we literally had to flag the waiter down for every single thing we needed: more water, more ginger, the check, to take our credit card...he was too busy watching the tv to pay any attention and there were only THREE tables sat while we were there. Total loser.

And the maki rolls were just barely edible - the shrimp tempura roll was clearly made from pre-frozen fried shrimp, and everything else was incredibly uninspired. Looked like really bad rolls you could get from a supermarket at best - not worth the money, not worth the visit, not worth waiting for the waiter...I would avoid it at all cost!
