“Booked international tickets to see a gig here - no problem”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

First time booking tickets through Ticketmaster in the Uk for a venue in the USA. No problem at all collecting tickets at the International 'Will Call' booth or box office, situated in the middle of the Beacon Theatre's main entrance.

Visit this booth first to collect your tickets before queuing up for the gig.

Amazing venue inside. Great sound and experience as the theatre is very ornate, beautifully decorated. A lot of images posted online to take a better look at the venue and seating if unsure.

Joe Satriani was fantastic. Would visit here again

“Beautiful old theatre”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

First visit was to see Allman Bros Band before Derek and Warren leave the band. Glad to have seen them, but that's another story. The theatre was easy to get to, there is a subway stop a block or so south, with numerous lines getting you there. Several bars in the area if you want to stop ahead of time, but they were packed before the show. Inside it was a gaggle at the lobby since that is where the merchandise and first bar was. Keep going if you want a drink, there were lots of bars inside the theatre waiting/lobby areas...even one downstairs where the bathrooms are. There is beer, wine and basic cocktails. Food was basic packaged stuff, chips, pretzels, M&Ms. Just snacks really, but if you need a snack they're there. They let you take the food and drinks into the theatre itself. Beautiful space with details you don't get in more modern halls. Very intimate feel. My seat was orchestra right, section 4. They let us stand along the sides, which gave a little extra room. Even far right I had a great view, and sound was still very good. Would have been better in center of course, but far side was not a problem. Highly recommend seeing a band here.

“Allman brothers show at the Beacon”
Reviewed March 19, 2014 via mobile

The beacon is a great little, intimate 1930's theatre located in the upper east side. Totally great to see live events. Beautifully restored recently I heard, the place is a gem. Helpful staff too. They do need more restrooms though...

“Classic, beautiful, NY theater”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

Went for Allman Bros concert. Had not been here in many years. The size, seating were perfect in that not too big, not too small way. Just right. I wish there were restrooms on each floor, that line is really long.

“Beacon Concert”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

This was my first visit to the Beacon to see the Allman Brothers perform their annual (and supposedly final) Spring concert run. The place is just so over the top beautiful it's almost hard to describe. From the lobby to the actual concert hall, there is so much going on architecturally that it's easy to go into visual sensory overload. Thank God someone had the idea to restore and preserve this place; it is an absolute treasure. I had seats in the Loge section and the sound was superb and site lines to the stage were perfect. Seeing an act at a place like the Beacon is so vastly superior to a stadium venue. Drinks ARE expensive here, but hey, it's New York right? I will say that the bartender I dealt with was friendly, as was everyone else there including the ushers and ticket takers. This is a wonderful place to see a concert.
