Coming from Asia and living in Shanghai we had a chance to visit this cozy place with a friend couple, and have been amazed by the sophisticated choice of plates with all the different tastes which we are normally not used to have. We very much liked the hummus and the avocado hummus which has been an extraordinary taste compared to others. We have made a reservation at 8pm, the small place has been busy and no space for as was ready, but we just had to wait some minutes till our table was ready. The variety of wine is priced fairly and goes well with the different food directions. Additionally we liked the close by area for some afterwards drinks. We would go for sure again.

Friendly, busy place for Sunday brunch. We had shakshuka, goat cheese salad and jachnun (my first time for this delicacy). Despite the crowd they happily accommodated an infant stroller/car seat. Food was delicious..

During my last trip to NYC I was introduced to this fine little eastern-European-with-Mediterranean overtones restaurant. I enjoyed it so much that we put it on the calendar for next visit, and made a reservation (recommended since the place is so small.) An hour before we received a call that the place wasn't opening until 8pm, an hour past our res, and that the res "should never have been taken." Aside from disrupting plans made a week previously, which we could have dealt with, this notice was very last minute, and handled very rudely. As much as we enjoyed last time, it will be the last time for 12 Chairs. No way to run a business.

Ample portions of delicious foods. Comfortable cozy room. Nice selection of desserts. Prompt courteous service. I'd return.

Had an evening meal and two breakfasts and every time the food was outstanding as was the service. The restaurant had. A lovely atmosphere and very reasonable by NYC standards. It became a real favourite of ours and we were always extended a very warm welcome. Great if your staying in Greenwich Village.
