Absolutely fantastic show! Some of the best singing and dancing you will see. The orchestra was truly outstanding. I felt like I was transported back in time to the heyday of The Cotton Club. We were there on Patti LaBelle's opening night (June 10) and Miss Patti was a treat. Her part was small put packed a powerful punch. This is not a "play" per se but it is more like an experience of spending a night at The Cotton Club. It is about 90 minutes with no intermission so make a trip to the ladies' room before because you won't want to miss ANYTHING!

We got our tickets at TKTS and were seated on the 4th row. This show is more of a concert with elaborate dancing than a Broadway show. No plot. No real continuity. It was fun, never boring. Just not my cup of Broadway tea.

There will never be an orchestra assembled on Broadway as fantastic as you will see performing in After Midnight. The dancing will bring you back to a bygone era. The show is so much more than the small part played by a rotating cast of female singers like Fantasia, Vanessa Williams, and Toni Braxton. The famous names may draw you but it's the orchestra and dancers you will be talking about on the way out.

An amazing array of talented dancers, singers, and musicians who really get the spirit and style of an era. With costumes by award winning Isabel Toledo and dancing by super star Desmond Richardson helping to bring this golden age to life you can add that wonder of wonders Patti La Belle and the off the charts Jazz at Lincoln Center orchestra...every one of them a star.

I can see why this won the Tony for choreography. The dancing was AMAZING!! Parrish LaBelle and Dule Hill were good, but the lesser known singers and dancers really steal this show. It is just a review of many songs from the era of The Cotton Club, so there is no story, but that doesn't mean it won't keep your attention, it will. It is about 90 minutes with no intermission.
