“Must see area of the park”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

This is one of my favorite places in Central Park. It's centrally located, and I like to approach from the south along the tree lined promenade. The fountain is wonderful, as well as the bridge, usually there is someone performing music underneath, great sound, and don't miss the restored frescoes. When the weather is nice, you can rent a rowboat and see the area from the water.

“A highlight of Central Park”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

What's not to like about the Bethesda Fountain in the middle of Central Park. This is a great arrangement, featuring the winged angel which was sculpted by Emma Stebbins in the 1860s and water spouts which cascade into the surrounding pool. The area around the fountain and statue is called Bethesda Terrace.

This is a great spot to grab a hot dog from a local vender, take a seat and enjoy what might be the best of Central Park. While a nice place to visit in the dead of winter, the Bethesda Fountain is just great during the autumn turning of the leaves period when the surrounding trees begin to turn. The entire area is just stunning during this time of year.

Overall, Bethesda Fountain is the highlight of Central Park, a place that is highly recommendable for visitors to NYC that want to spend time in the Park.

“Lovely place”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Lovely fountain and area around the fountain. Was crowded.
It is near the water and can see the boats out and have a good view of the Boathouse.
While there a man had a radio playing some french music and was a wonderful atmosphere.
Lots of people around and dog walkers.
Even saw a bridal party having pictures taken at the fountain.
And the singers in the tunnel are really good.

“A def place to Stroll when in Central Park”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Take out the map and get to Bethesda Fountain and terraces. Get a feel of what it was like to see and be seen after the turn of the centuries going into the 1900s. The structures are amazing, the setting beautiful and a stroll along the lake, wonderful The nearby Boathouse for lunch tops it all off.

“Beautiful spot in Central Park”
Reviewed September 15, 2012 via mobile

Stumbled across this spot while wandering in the rain, so glad we did. Lovely statue and surroundings. Entertainers arrived as the rain went off- giant balloon blowers and talented singers. One of the highlights of the park for me.
