So we went here on a busy Sunday afternoon. I have always been a great John Lennon fan, and was actually around when he was. I knew where the place was by the crowd of people gathered around the mosaic. Young Japanese tourists were having there photos taken STANDING ON THE MOSAIC! Sacrilege! The surrounding area was a bit tacky: a guy strumming Lennon songs and someone else selling trinkets. As others have said, it's not much to write home about. A statue of the great man would have been preferable, with a small museum perhaps. Next we went across to the Dakota Building. That poor doorman must get fed up with the constant stream of tourists having their photo taken where the dastardly deed was carried out.
