“GREAT music”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

I left in a great mood due to the wonderful ambiance of this place. The singer/pianist had a flutist there, doing everything from jazz standards, Edith Piaf, to all kinds of things that people liked. We weren't indifferent spectators but instead really enjoyed the music. It was refreshing to go somewhere where people stopped to listen to it, rather than being like an afterthought, ignored and in the background.

The portions were large--we had excellent salmon from the prix fixe menu, followed by a very good chocolate mousse cake. They let us take our time and stay there a long time, even though when we first went in we said we were just ordering something small. The wait staff was attentive and didn't pressure us. I don't know whether they do brunches or delivery but we ate there late at night and left at midnight. I don't know if I'd have felt the same way without the music there. (Fri. 8/11/12)

“outside menu great selections”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012 via mobile

we had the eggplant, the canneloni, and thr cesar salad with grilled chicken. Each dish was delicious. The wait staff was pleasant, friendly and mostly attentive. i enjoyed sitting at the table on the sidewalk cafe and from what i saw at the other table the desserts looked good. a restaurant to try when in NYC,not the best Italian food, but not the worst either. I would go back for sure again.

“Nice local place with good food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

Divino is a great place to have a family dinner with a nice menu, very friendly and attentive service and a staff that makes you feel right at home. We go there a few times a year since we have family a couple of blocks away and it's been a favorite of theirs for more than a decade. This is a clean, attractive environment with a colorful, festive feeling. They recently remodeled and did a very good job.
Their menu offers a nice range of selections. Sunday brunch is also a good idea. The options are good, the price is reasonable and if you're there for Sunday brunch, you can also start things off with a mimosa, bloody mary or glass of wine that is included. Their chicken parm is one of my favorites. You'll probably be too full for a big dessert, but enjoy the tasty cookies that they bring you at the end of the meal and try the cappuccino to wash them down.

“A decent meal and nice atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2012

A very nice restaurant on the Upper East Side. Very accomodating. We ate a nice brunch here on 4/15/12 and I must say we were very pleased. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we had our pet puggle with us. We sat outisde and the staff was very accomodating to our dog. The food was good, tasty and nicely presented I would put this restaurant right in the middle of food and the interior of the restaurant was nicely decorated and inviting. The brunch was $16.95 per person with choice of drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert. The choices on the menu had something for everyone. i would definitely return.

“There's a lot better within blocks...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2012

Probably on the lower end of quality for Italian places in my opinion. The food was partially packaged (pre-cooked chicken breast, bagged lettuce mixes) and pretty much blah (I can't say I approve of $9 iceberg lettuce house salads in a place where half the staffs English is barely comprehensible - would it be too much to throw in a little arugula or something). The main courses we had were the pork (fair, nothing spectacular, roasted potatos way too overdone and the balsamic sauce was thinly disguised brown sauce) and the lamb (good portion size but same problems). Overall, it was pretty dissatisfying - not even sure why we picked this place given the number of restaurants along that stretch of Second Ave.
