NOTE: This review will sound negative, but the sports bar part of Jeremy's is warm and welcoming. We WILL return for a sports event, ordering a few pints of the very reasonably priced name brand beer.

We had considered Jeremy's one evening a while back. It was filled with happy, loud sports fans enjoying their beer and games. Not for us that night.

So when we arrived in the afternoon to a less crowded setting, we gave it a try. The ceiling is generously decorated with bras, the walls with fine televisions, for a fun traditional men's bar setting.

We tried the house salads (iceberg lettuce and celery with hothouse tomatoes) and fried calamari (fair in itself, served with a mixture of ketchup and some hot sauce). The portions were generous but the food was uninspiring.

The extensive beer list included Jeremy's own ale. Watery and weak flavored. The Bud Light of ales. We'll go with another beverage next time.

Nonetheless, the place is fine for what it is, a sports bar with food prioritized far below atmosphere and beer.

My wife and I were visiting NYC for the first time. I had heard that people here aren't very friendly, not true at all. We fell in with a delightful bunch of "locals" and had a great evening (I parenthesise because they didn't live nearby but drank here regularly). Being British I like proper beer and this pub provides plenty of varieties, some of which are almost quite good - once you've let them warm up a bit so you can taste them! The staff are friendly and efficient. When we were there a football (or soccer if you prefer) match was being shown on TV (Italy v Spain) and most of the clientele seemed to be knowledgable about the game. For those of you who, like me, prefer pubs without TVs they are very difficult to find in the USA.

We first visited this place in Dec 2009. I was cold and wet and we escaped the weather to dry off.
4 years on we were back in NYC and had to go back! The beer and food is great with a relaxed atmosphere. We will be back again when we next visit :-)

Good beer, nice and relaxed and friendly atmosphere, simple food prepared to suit your request. Good for a regular, nothing-to-do times visit.

We stay at the Best Western on the opposite corner, so this is the closest place around for a quick bite. Bar food, but VERY GOOD bar food. Always busy with locals and out-of towners alike.
