this is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Good food, good daily specials and very comfortable to eat at. The staff is friendly and it is always a fun place to spend time. Great restaurant for out of towner on business trips. Enjoy a little of a paris bistro in New York City

Visiting NYC several times a year and often staying in the Murray Hill area, I eat at this restaurant once or twice a year. The food is reliably good and it is easy to get a table in the evening. I now have the soufflé grand marnier every time; it's outstanding. Not "fancy food," but good solid French bistro-like menu. It offers a fixed price "menu," now at $45, with surcharges for some selections (including the great soufflé), but you can also order a la carte.

A great place if you are looking for a relatively laid-back atmosphere to have a nice glass of wine and some mussels (everyone agreed they were the best thing we ordered). It was relatively quiet on the night we visited, service was not rushed, and the food was pretty tasty. I would likely make a return visit - the location is good too at the corner of Madison and 37th. Value is reasonable for a French restaurant as well.

We had lunch at Madison Bistro last week and were equally pleased with food and service.
Good selection; tasty and well presented food. Portions size just right.
I’d recommend “Le Bourguignon” Braised Short Ribs, and desert - Coconut “Blanc Mange” Plum Compote. Both were exceptional.
