Ordered a Monte cristo which came out burnt. Should never have been sent out of kitchen and the turkey on top was dry. Salad was passable. Not quite fresh. Maybe their other food is better.

On Feburary 12 we were trying to decide on where we wanted to go for brunch. The staff at our hotel sugested Madison's as a great alternative to the typical overpriced NYC brunch. They were right! After walking a few blocks we found a great local diner that was packed with hungry locals and The occasional celebrity. We were seated quickly, served efficiently and brought a great breakfast. Atmosphere? A local place full of people that were clearly enjoying themselves.

Great food for a reasonable price!

Clean, good service, GREAT coffee and wonderful food. What more could you ask for in a diner? Menu is not as big as some NY coffee shops, also called diners. But we had western omelette and Spanish omelette, both good and fresh, with crispy has browns instead of home fries. Again, the coffee was really, really good and service attentive without being bothersome. Crowded on a Sunday morning with locals and repeat customers means consistently good. My new favorite place in midtown East.

We have eaten here various times over the years, most recently earlier this month. The place is clean, menu extensive, service attentive and food is consistently good. This is what I would call a diner. On our last visit we had breakfast and bow tie pasta. The pasta was served not in a bland tomato sauce but instead a great herb/oil. Never a clunker experience. That is why we keep going back. Unless you are expecting Per Se, you will not be disapointed.
