This restaurant came highly recommended, but perhaps the glowing reviews referred to times past. We were annoyed from the first at the fact that we could only order a half duck for two as part of a banquet, but when you want to try the specialty of the house, you are forced to order too much. There was a huge amount of duck, but it was too fatty and lacking in flavour. The pancakes were also oversized and tough. Worst of all, the side order of Chinese broccoli was inedible - we couldn't even bite through the tree-like stalks! The service was perfunctory and it was only when my husband broke with all that is sacred in NYC and didn't tip a cent that the waiters bothered to ask if anything was wrong.

I was walking in Chinatown and we thought to have lunch there.. So I checked in my mobile app of tripadvisor the suggestions and my dad wanted to eat "pecking duck".. So, we found this restaurant, and I can't complain, the food was very very good and a great service.. Our server even speaks spanish.. He was a very nice guy ( I dont remember his name). We ate the peking duck, broccoli, chinese rice and another entree.. 2 glasses of whine, an orange juice and the dessert.. the entire bill was near 130$.. was a lot of food and we were 3 guests... The duck was AMAZINGGGG!!!... if you are going to eat in Chinatown this is the place.. all the other places seemed in very bad shape, and the smell was horrible..
Good place to eat.

Tried this based on being nearby and the solid recommendations, have to say i was let down. Paid $90 for the meal and ordered the peking duck - it was OK... nothing outstanding like folks say but it was ok the pastry wrap was large and thick and not very nice.

ordered also Ma Po Tofo which was probably the worst i had before. The prawn fried rice the prawns were rotten and like mash potatoes. the chinese brocolli with oyster sauce was gross. This restaurant is overpriced and crap food, AVOID.

Not much to add - all dishes were excellent and we ordered far too many. Good value (even if on the expensive end for Chinatown). Very clean and comfortable. Service is typical for chinatowns (always the same wherever they are) - efficient, brusque, fee added before paying so as not to give you much choice!

Had a wonderful meal here with my wife and two sons. The Peking duck was as superb as many reviews had said and the performance of the chef appearing from the kitchen to carve and serve it added to the experience. We then ordered three main courses and some noodles and have to admit it was a bit ambitious but we enjoyed them while we could
One note of warning we had two different guidebooks and I read reviews from three different websites all of which said that there was no alcohol available and that we should take our own wine and that corkage was free, this proved untrue as beers appeared from the kitchen for other tables despite not being on any menu and we were charged 6.50 per person drinking wine
Still a thoroughly enjoyable meal though (and we had decent wine for less than restaurant prices)
