The setting go this restaurant is beautiful and almost Zen like. The food is delicious and the service impeccable. We have been here many times and each time try new items with a few old standbys we enjoy. Each time it seems to get better.

Very nice and charming restaurant, with a stunning view of the kitchen and a sensational design. Not the standard sushi bar, offering a lot of Japanese specialties that it would be difficult to find elsewhere in New York, such as the freshly made tofu. The staff welcomes you when entering with e choral applause and the service is very accurate. Very nice experience. I went in Shibuya (Tokyo) to another En Brasserie (I suppose it belongs to the same chain) but strange to say I preferred the New Yorker.

We find ourselves coming back to En Japanese Brasserie whenever we have the occasion to do so, as it's quite a fun experience. We recommend reservations. The location feels off the beaten path in the very West Village, near Christopher Street. The building itself (on the inside) is amazing, with soaring ceilings, wooden accents, and a wall of sake barrel lids as decor. Staff greet you with 'irrashaimase' upon arrival, and are very attentive throughout.

We ordered the basic kaiseki (chef's menu) with the accompanying sake set. This menu includes some of our favorites, including the fresh homemade tofu, stone grilled chicken, and black miso cod. Staff explain each course so you know what you are eating and drinking. The cost per person isn't cheap, but we look at this as a culinary journey with wonderful ingredients, and a moment to savor.

The restaurant has large tables to accommodate groups, and a square center-table where couples can sit on corners.

We love the ambience and the quality of food, and will certainly be back next time we are in town!

Had dinner here with a few friends. From the friendly greeting at the door, everyone was cheerful and service driven. We had crab misu soup, grilled chicken, pork belly, and more. Great dining experience.

It has been at least year and a half since my last visit to En. I was delightfully surprised to find the positive changes - new extension of the lounge, enhanced menu selection and trendier crowds. Now it is a cool place for gathering with friends over decent modern Japanese dishes. Only one negative comment on the cocktails: great idea to use freshly squeezed fruit juices but the portion is so stringent that they all (tried 3 different ones) taste like very diluted juice soda.
