we had a fun time people watching here. you do get to see a side of NY that you would not otherwise think to see. We checked out nearby brunch places before we visited so that we could start off with brunch and then walk it off. Very safe and a great perspective from up above.

The weather wasn't the best, cold and had just snowed. But we had heard about the High Line and we were headed downtown to the Chelsea Market. It is a really cool way to walk in NYC. No lights, no traffic and a really interesting view of the city. Wish it had been spring or fall. Bet it's really nice then. But definitely recommend it if you are walking that way.

We went for a walk along here one morning and it is a very nice break from the frenetic pace in central NYC. We were able to walk along the entire path in around 1 hour but there is work going on to extend it further uptown. We got some good photos and it's definitely worthwhile, but probably not going to take up a huge part of your day. I'd recommend scoping out other things in the area and either use it as your route between attractions, or tie in some of the sights at either end of the walk as well.

Must visit. Great views of the city and so much creative energy around. Stopby Chelsea Market for a quick bite.

The High Line is one of the most visited attractions in New York City--mostly by locals who enjoy strolling down this elevated railway with views of the Hudson. Little booths selling souvenirs, knich knacks, and food are set up all along the path during warmer weather in this, one of the last areas of Manhattan to be rejuvenated. Lots of new buildings with interesting architecture line this wonderful place for a stroll during the spring, summer, and fall. The north end is not too far from the passenger boats that ply the waters to the Statue of Liberty and around the southern tip of the island for another pleasant journey while you are in New York. We recommend you give it a try.
