“Great park for a stroll”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

I enjoyed strolling along, and seeing the lovely flowers and other plants along the path. Even on a weekday afternoon, it was fairly crowded, so it is more of a strolling or sitting kind of park, not a place to try fitness walking! We enjoyed the ice pops we tried, and there were also vendors selling pretzels, barbecue, and gelato. Water fountains (and recycling bins) are available in several locations, which was good because it was sunny and warm!

The exits are not labeled as to which street they come out on, and as we came up several people asked where the steps came out...strangely, it is labeled with where the elevators are, so what you know when you enter the stairs is what street ISN'T below.

Still, it is an interesting park, with nice plantings, places to sit, have a snack, both in sun and shade, and there is a lot of construction to watch from up there, and cityscape galore.

“A must see for all travelers to the city”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

I visit the high line on almost every trip to the city. It is the best example of a community coming together to create something great - a lovely walking path that gets longer each time I visit, beautiful architecture, and commissioned art that gets bigger each time. There are a lot of people that go through it so it's important to make sure you can take your time to enjoy and appreciate it. It's not something that you can (or should) rush.

“Our favorite destination for an NYC day trip.”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

In any season, it is great for people watching, the view, the artwork, the flora and fresh air. And of course the nearby eateries.

“worth the effort to walk it - try to go at dusk”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

amazing reclaiming of an old elevated rail line - runs along the west side from the mid 20's down to the meat packing district - where you can then walk around and grab dinner. Amazing views - makes you see that small is beautiful and what can get accomplished when a community rallies behind a project.

“Not a destination”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

It's a nice little park and they've put some pretty flowers on it, so if you're in the area, you might want to visit. But it's not worth a trip to get there. There's not really much to see and it's surrounded by ear-splitting construction noise on practically its entire length.
