We were really excited to go here, because they had otherwise good reviews. Unfortunately, you cant judge a book by its cover and that goes both ways. While the restaurant is very elegant, and the menu has the appearance of a 5 star restaurant, the bottom line is the food was sub par for the price. The bread is outstanding, and the level of service from the waitstaff was excellent, however the actual meal was pretty unremarkable. We would not go here again.

Stopped in here for dinner on a Wednesday night. My big question coming in was how would this Massachusetts restaurant hold up in NYC in kind of an odd location. Regarding location, it is on Lexington in the 40's in the basement level of a new hotel. The space is very pretty and some of the best wine glasses you will ever drink out of. The food was outstanding as was the service. The restaurant was not crowded, guessing due to location. Overall a great dinner option in this area. I would go back without thinking twice.

We found this restaurant through trip a visor and was differently not let down! Our server was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The whole experience was on of the best on our 4 day vacation.

We loved the attentive wait staff. Sat our group of 6 in a quiet corner. Wait staff was very knowledgeable on the menu and helped those in our group feel comfortable. The steaks were excellent and coodked perfectly to everyone's desire.

Since the Boston Davios is one of our favorite restaurants, we booked the NY outpost and were SO disappointed. I read the other reviews, which were great, so we went. I cannot imagine for the life of me, where these folks were coming from. Our experience was no bad, just so mediocre, especially for the money.

From the moment we descended the stairs into the basement restaurant(complete with exposed pipes), I felt like we were eating in my mothers basement in Cleveland. Had expected a grand beautiful space like Boston and was so disappointed. And then the menu was so limited as well, compared to Boston.

The food was fine, not great, nothing special. Service was nice, but nothing special. One in our party had a steak, another the scallops. For the prices, the food did not stand out as memorable.

I can't imagine what Steve Defillippo was thinking when he choose this space? It is a basement, pure and simple. The Boston space is beautiful, the menu inventive and delicious. What a tremendous disappointment.
