“Great fun and better Cheeseburgers”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

The title says it all. We stumbled upon the Old Town Bar and were told by some guys walking out that they had the best cheeseburgers in NYC. I obviously haven't eaten every cheeseburger in ew York, but the ones we got here were perfect. Great beer and great food, if you're looking for burgers, salads, etc. Warning, it's a bar with food, not a restaurant with a bar. Not for the faint of heart or people with small children.

“Old Town Bar was an old time value!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

I was impressed with the atmosphere. I am a history buff and this place brings you back to the 1880's. It was wonderful location and I loved the look and feel of the high ceilings and the old crafted fixtures.
The most impressive thing were the basic mixed drinks were very reasonably priced for Gin and Tonics and Rum and Cokes. I was surprised to be able to get a very reasonably priced and very stiff drink in NYC.
The bartender was very friendly and funny, even as the NY Mets and Yankees baseball teams lost their games!
This is definitely worth a visit.

“The Old Town is a classic New York place from another time.”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

Would have bar food and beers at this place pretty regularly when I lived in the city. Great wings and great drinks in a beautiful room. The tin ceiling and decor take you to a different time. Friendly and laid back. A good place to tie one on as well.

“Great "Old NY" Experience”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Stopped in for lunch, wonderful old NY atmosphere. Old (in a good way) lighting, dumb waiter and 2 long wooden bars. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Food was good, if a bit over priced: 2 burgers with skinny well-done fries + 2 beers +tip = $48. Not sure if we will rush back, but it was fun and staff did not hurry us through lunch.

“Great bar, great location”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

Great area to hang out in but filled with expensive, yuppie restaurants. As much as I love all the high end restaurants in the area filled with beautiful people, If you feel like tossing on some jeans and a tee shirt, eating great comfort food and knocking down a few cocktails, this is your place. Awesome beer selections and great Martini's served by a friendly staff. Well worth traveling to. Certainly in the top 5 old NY bars.
