“a nice surprise”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

This was a nice surprise in Rockefeller Plaza. Morrell Wine Bar has an extensive wine-by-the-glass list and outdoor tables to watch the crowd go by. They close early though.

“If you're tired of all the street vendors , try this beautiful relaxing restaurant”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in for a relaxing lunch while sightseeing and shopping around The Times Square area. They have a varied luncheon menu from one for the very hungry to a lighter menu as well. If you have a chance to taste their Carrot Ginger Purée topped with cream fraiche, do so. It's basically a creamed carrot soup but very light. You can't go wrong with any item on the menu and the offer lovely outside sitting as well as inside the restaurant. Excellent service as well.

“Nice wine selection”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

We sat outside on a warm, muggy July afternoon. Nice view of Rockefeller Center but service was not the best. Our server's switched many times and were not very friendly. I felt the prices were quite high as well.

“Above average food, good wine and great staff.”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

During a recent vacation to NYC, my wife and I decided to have dinner here due primary to its location. Right from the onset, staff was extremely friendly and even "arranged" a table for us so that we could get the maximum benefit of people watching. We ordered a pre-meal drink while we checked out the menu and ended up having a pleasant conversation with the hostess. She even assisted with the purchase of a couple bottles of wine from the store before it closed. Our appetizers were very good, and although there was a minor glitch with my order and had to wait a couple of extra minutes for my risotto, it was well worth the wait. Similarly, my wife's chicken was excellently prepared. The staff was very attentive, but not over bearing. We never felt rushed and were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a liqueur at no cost to us. Unfortunately there was a slight mix up with our bill and that of another couple, but that was quickly corrected. Our selection of Morrell Wine Bar and Cafe proved to be a great success. Above average food, good wine and great people. And a fantastic place to people watch.
I highly recommend Morrell Wine Bar and Cafe.

“Excellent food and wine selection by the glass with worldclass people watching. Service is awful and wines not served at proper”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Cheese plate is an excellent way to start off this fantastic menu that includes truffled deviled eggs, pulled duck tacos and English pea risotto! Food never disappoints but white wines are too cold and reds served too warm...when will they figure out that the best wine bars use temp-controlled nitro systems to ensure quality.....this is a wine bar after all!!!!
