We went to Lips for a bachelorette / 50th birthday fun time celebration. If you are thinking of going to Lips keep some things in mind: the place is what you would expect for a burlesque type drag show. The food was average at best, but that's not why you go there. There is no drink minimum but there is a $15.00 food minimum. We had $5.00 frozen cosmos that were pretty good. We were a bit surprised at the age of most of the patrons. It was 95% women with a few guys dragged along. The average age of the girls there was early 20's which the MC had fun with. But not as much fun as s/he had with the parents who brought their daughter for her 16th birthday!
The staff comprised of 4-5 drag queens... As promised... Songs were lip synced except for the one by All Beef Pattie who was hostess/waitress/ entertainer. A triple threat! If you ask for a "celebration" there is a $15 charge and your guest of honor is brought on stage for some banter with the MC (Blackie-O). The gratuity is included on the bill so keep an eye out for that. There was more fun and games than actual singing, so if that's what you want you got it. We were there on a Tuesday night . It was karaoke night so after the "show" the audience got to choose songs to sing on stage. As the MC said at one point the reason they were all there was "alcohol ". If you are over 21 and visit Lips it would certainly be a good idea to partake in that part of the festivities. Not for anyone under 18 since the performers get rather raunchy.

OK so the decor is kitsch, the food is lack luster but fine, BUT THE SHOW IS AMAZING!!! Absolutely entertaining and so hilarious. We had a great time unlimited mimosas hold the orange juice lol. The staff are delightful, absolutely my favourite outing during my visit and I am so excited to take my friends for my holiday to NYC this weekend. It is highly recommended for an outing with the boy or the girls, enjoy!

I went here for my friend's 25 birthday and it was beyond cool. The host was over the top and I loved every moment of it. I'm mad I forgot the host name but she said she usually worked on Sundays but once again she was awesome. I've read bad reviews about the food and I must say the food was the total opposite. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and the chicken was juicy and the mashed potatoes was good. The food doesn't look appetizing but it was very food. The drinks I felt were very watered down, they were so weak! I had the blojito and its tasty but I didnt taste no alcohol at all!

I went here as the first stop on my bachelorette weekend. Such a fun time. The servers were nice, the food was decent and the drinks were strong. Entertaining and the leopard walls were a bonus! I had a great time!

When LIPS was in the Village, it was a good show. Sadly they have gone so far away from the original model that I would not recommend it at all. A two hour show starts at 7.PM, with first hour waiting for food, service and clearing up. Second hour has one lineup of singers singing one song, then 20 minutes of non witty games with 16 year olds, two more songs, another 20 minutes of forced wit vulgar jokes with brides to be, a couple more songs and it was over at 8.45.. Food was ok, simple menu and service was good. But you can get that anywhere for the same price (circa $55 including cover per person). And the staff/performers are obviously jaded. Would not recommend it.
