Fast service. My grilled chicken sandwich platter came with a huge mound of fries. Nothing out of the ordinary -- but better and more fun than going to a fast-food burger chain restaurant.

After checking out the Cattelon exhibit at the Gugghenheim, it was time to go lowbrow for lunch at this "western" themed chain diner on Madison. The food was satisfying enough. Nothing frilly...just good omelettes, french toast, pancakes, sandwiches, other food varieties and all manner of potatoes. (I thought my son, John, went a little over the cholesterol top with his cheese fries AND gravy. But he's fit and trim, so I guess he could chance it.). The gravy was pretty salty, but that's just what he was looking for. Actually, the sandwiches (Burgers, too) were pretty generous and the prices were not horrible for a place in the City. Service was friendly and reasonably efficient. Naturally, don't expect the expert service that you'd get at a place like Spiga, but Jackson Hole doesn't pretend to be Spiga or an haut cuisine kind of restaurant.

Went to Jackson Hole with a group for burgers - a person I went with had been there before and raved about it. It wasn't bad - the buger was the biggest 7 oz burger I've seen - a lot of restaurants advertise 8 oz burgers that are a lot smaller than the burgers at Jackson Hole - the fries were great as well. Service was slow and the restaurant was extremely hot - the weather was warmer than normal and I think the AC must have been off for the season. It's worth a visit.

From eggs and bacon to burgers, Jackson Hole does a good, if unpretentious job of filling the bill.

Very small dining area, did not even have enough room to eat, poor attitude of serving staff, did not receive all my order, and staff allowed patrons to let their toddlers roam around, unsupervised. Wound up with food on my coat from one dirty fingered kid.
