“Okay hotel with great location!”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

This is a great hotel for the location - within walking distance to Times Square, shopping, Macy's, restaurants. Room was very tiny with barely enough room to open your luggage. We had only three people in the room and we were bumping into each other. I had to use the floor space in the bathroom under the sink to store luggage.

I visited this hotel on a business trip which I combined with my own leisure trip. I travel on business often and was more impressed with this Hampton than I have been with any others. The rooms are small, but this IS New York! Clean, quiet, and safe!! Oh...and TRUE WIFI in your room...never lost a connection, even streaming video!

We stayed here during the Big East Tournament due to its proximity to Madison Square Garden. Pros: The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but clean. Only a block away from MSG/Penn Station, and an easy walk to Macy's/Empire State Building, etc. Cons: The set-up of the hotel is conducive to a lot of noise. The building is essentially a small square with 19 floors. Each floor has 4 rooms in the front and 4 in the back. There are two elevators in the middle and two stairwells along each side. Consequently, the hallway is a square around the elevators, and every door closing, person speaking in the halls, etc. seems amplified. It appears as though the other 7 rooms on our floor were inhabited by the pep band from one of the schools playing in the tournament. With their gathering in one room, and in and out, there was not much sleep for us prior to 3AM, even after I called the desk.

So, if you're a heavy sleeper or a night owl, this place is for you! If not, you may want to look somewhere else, or just hope everyone on your floor is quiet.

Great little hotel, great location, just round the corner from Madison Square Garden ( as you would expect by its name!) situated between 6th &7th ave.
Spotlessly clean, very pleasant staff, if you need anything......... just ask!
Bedroom whilst you could not describe it as 'massive' it was perfectly fine for two people, a minor criticism would be the size of the wardrobe - only single size, bit of a squeeze for mum and daughter's outfits! We were on the 17th floor at the front of the hotel, no problems with street noise.
Breakfast was very enjoyable, make your own waffles, yum!
Would highly recommend this hotel, brilliant value for money too.
I had pre-booked airport transfers with Flexitrips/Thomas Cook and had problems with them, the reception staff at the hotel were very helpful and phoned the company several times. Would NOT recommend this share transfer, having spoken to other guests, they had only paid about £10 more for a private taxi transfer and much quicker. We had whizzed through customs on arrival but waited nearly an hour for our transfer pick-up, even worse on our return after having confirmed our pick-up the previous day as instructed!! You have been warned!

Just returned from a 5 night stay @ Hamptons, lovely hotel and right in the middle of everything, under 20mins walk to Times Square if you dont keep stopping to look up at the buildings and shops, 5mins if that from ESB and Macy's so that was a treat ( go early to ESB as queue's build up quick) 2 mins from Penn Station and MSG. The staff where excellent especially Jamine ( I think that was his name ) was so helpful. Room is an ok size BUT we only slept in it, you don't go to NY to stay in your room, it was clean compfortable and beds where what you needed after a long day walking. The Breakfast was great set you up for the day, also tea/coffee all day with warm cookies was a bonus, plus free water. We had a great holiday and stay @ Hamptons have already started saving for our next stay with you, and have all ready reccommeded you to a couple of friends to stay when they visit later in the year. Thank you all for adding to a lovely visit in NY see you soon

The hotel is located at the ideal place and quite close to Penn Station and Times Square. We stayed here for 3 nights and the best thing about the place was the breakfast and the very courteous staff. The price is right for the rooms so it is definitely worth it.

As other reviewers wrote, the rooms are small. One would manage okay, two a bit tight but three it was crowded. The rooms well maintained and clean. The bathroom was adequate and we'll stocked. The service was with a smile and friendly. The location was convenient to attractions and subway.

Not the best neighborhood for a late night walk. But Ok at regular times.

Parking was available across the street for $35 / 24h with validation. A real good price for nyc.
