As other reviewers wrote, the rooms are small. One would manage okay, two a bit tight but three it was crowded. The rooms well maintained and clean. The bathroom was adequate and we'll stocked. The service was with a smile and friendly. The location was convenient to attractions and subway.

Not the best neighborhood for a late night walk. But Ok at regular times.

Parking was available across the street for $35 / 24h with validation. A real good price for nyc.

I've never stayed at a hotel near Herald Square and I would say this Hampton Inn ocated on 31st street is a great location if you are attending an event at Madison Square Garden, visiting Macy's on Herald Square, or want to be near Penn Station. The hotel is across the street from Jack's 99 cents store and near 6th Avenue. The closest station is the orange line, Herald Square or blue line at Madison Square Garden. There is construction of a new hotel next to this Hampton Inn, but luckily no construction noise since we stayed here on the weekend. The lobby is small, but checking in was quick and efficient. There are two elevators and we were put on a 7th floor room facing 31st street. The room was small and with three people it could be a tight space. The beds are not two queens, it is a true two double beds. The bathroom had plenty of space, great water pressure, and warm water. Although the room was small, we manage to walk around our luggages to the bathroom and able to iron clothes at the same time on a full size board. As with any NYC hotel rooms, if it faces a street that cross between two major avenues, you can hear city noise even on high floors. However, this didn't deter us having a wonderful sleep and comfortable stay at this Hampton Inn. As part of your stay at this hotel is a wonderful breakfast spread. Usually I am picky about eggs and their egg cheese omelet was actually good and enjoyed the fresh belgian waffle maker. There were plenty of room to sit and eat at their breakfast area before taking on NYC. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hampton Inn especially starting the day off with a wonderful free breakfast. However, not really a part of NYC I usually stay at since it's a busy area with Herald Square, MSQ, and Penn Station nearby. But, this Hampton Inn was clean, good service, and comfortable. BON VOYAGE!

Room Tip: Easy to hail a cab on this street, especially when they stop near the intersection of 3st and 7th. We took a cab to Greenwich village, which only cost us $10 with tip for three passengers.

Dear Guest,

I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. I agree that our rooms are a bit small for three adults, that's why we try and limit our rooms to a maximum of 2 adults. I am glad that you enjoyed our location, and yes, this area is very busy because it is so popular with so much to see and to do. We are close to Times Square, Macy's, and so many other wonderful New York attractions.

Thank you for staying with us.

Sincerely,

Hunter Angus D. Glass

Just to get the obvious out of the way....the rooms are small and walls thin as mentioned in previous reviews. That said, we were very impressed with the Hampton Inn - MSG and would definitely return. Staff is very helpful and friendly; rooms are well maintained and clean; and the free breakfast was good and well stocked. We liked the location for its proximity to MSG but also to shopping and the subway. As far as value for the price, I doubt there would be much better. Nice job.....!

Dear Guest,

I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, and enjoyed our Team. I agree that our rooms are small for 3 adults, that's why we limit all of our rooms to a maximum of 2 adults. Most people would agree that our rooms are fine for one or two adults.

Thank you for the nice comments regarding our service! We have focused on giving the best service that we possibly can, so it is great to hear you enjoy us.

I hope that you will come and stay again.

Clean rooms, amazing staff and a good free breakfast! Just don't check out on a morning that everyone else is- with only 2 elevators it is a very long wait to get down to the lobby from higher floors. But stairs are an option!

We have stayed at this hotel before and will again. We are generally fans of Hampton Inns and we picked this particular venue for our recent stay in NYC because we wanted to be in Chelsea and we were travelling with our pooch. It is not the Ritz, but it is a great location, with pleasant helpful staff, and all the best of why you pick a Hampton Inn - free breakfast, internet, fresh baked cookies, etc. Okay, the room was a little small, but it's Manhattan, so what can you expect.
