“Lives up to its name”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We were looking for a cheap, good non-touristed place to eat dinner and we found it. This neon lit wonder is an unpretentious establishment that delivers what you see on the menu or at the counter - authentic New York style Indian dishes cheaply. We ordered off the menu, but should have ordered from the counter as it seemed cheaper there. However, with big open windows and authentic cheap eats we couldn't really complain.

“Horrible experience”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Food was bland. We ordered for our office. No body was happy with their food. small food portions. The chicken tikka entree portion for $7.99 was laughable. I ordered my food spicy but all the food was bland. Sorry if Indian food is not spicy and flavorful then its should not be sold as Indian food.

Food was delivered fast hence the 1 star

Save your money and get food from someplace else.

Update- I called to let them know about the quality of the food and the guy on the other end started to argue. We had already thrown the food in the garbage and weren't asking for a refund. An apology would have nice. Horrible customer service.

If possible I would give this place zero stars. Go somewhere else.

“Whenever i am in New york I go at least once....”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

I really ove this place in spite of its shabby ambiente and sometimes overcooked vegetables !!!\
the good thing are the naans, the lassi yogurt drinks and the beef curry !
i even went there with an ex-girlfriend who hated it...not chique enough haha...
food is ,except for vegetable curry very good and i will certainly come back, even if not in a hurry.
really good !

“Like in India”

Its name says it all. Extensive choice. Low price. Very simple setting. And quick!
Nothing to die for but tasty and spicy.
No alcohol or beer.

“The Best Value for Indian Food”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We like Indian food very much and once we discovered Curry in a Hurry, this became the place we would go when we wanted Indian food. It is half the price of the Indian restaurants found in midtown and every bit as good. the tandoori chicken and salmon are great. Service is friendly and it caters to a wide variety of customers. The decor is not upscale but is pleasant and there is take out on the first floor.
