Description: The Post House offers outstanding steakhouse cuisine in a warm, welcoming dining room with rich, clubby decor and polished service. Fresh salads, crabcakes, or tiered-presentation seafood bouquets are a wonderful way to begin any meal. In addition to a selection of top-quality steaks as main courses, the menu also includes several delicious seafood options, including lobsters served broiled or steamed. A selection of side dishes, including Onion Rings, Grilled Vegetables, and Hash Browns complete the meal. Given the menu's breadth, it is no surprise that the wine list includes over 300 international selections and has been distinguished with a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and the Wine Enthusiast Restaurant Award. Another one of the highlights of dining at The Post House is ending the meal with a selection from the dessert cart, where including house favorites such as Frozen Creme brulee with Coconut Tuile, Toasted Pecan Tart, and Rustic Chocolate Cake.

If you are willing to pay for exceptional food and service, this is your place. This restaurant has been around for quite some time and has never deteriorated on any level. Yes, there are tons of newer steak joints around, but this is a classic.

A family favorite and we were invited! We we retreated to a special evening of fellowship and food. Mine was a petite filet which was served med/rare and cooked to perfection. The accompanying salad was prepared at the table and was wonderful with anchovies. Really well taken care of by retiring Wayne. Looking forward to coming back.

For my wife's birthday celebration dinner, six of us (including two grandchildren) dined at The Post House, and had a memorably good time. The setting is an updated version of Old New York, just off the lobby of the Lowell Hotel; the crowd knows its good eats and wine, and the staff make the place work flawlessly. Steaks, shrimp, and Dover sole were perfect; sides, like the main dishes, were very large but well-done, and while the wine list ascends into the stratosphere in some places there are quite a few reasonably-priced offerings. Service was superb, with a few extras also thrown in for the Birthday Lady; noise levels were pleasantly moderate, and all in all it was a pretty nearly perfect experience. All of that does come at a price, but the quality makes it all worthwhile. In all, we could not have chosen a better place for a fine family occasion --

We love The Post House and go every time we are in New York City. The steaks are great, but the portion sizes are ridiculous. I odered the Rib Steak-it was 28 oz. and cost $55. I ate only a small portion. It was delicious, but seriously. And as tourists, we can't take home the leftovers.
