It serves quintessentially New York coal-fired pizza, famous for its perfect brick-oven baked crust and zesty tomato sauce. John's is still family owned and operated, and boasts such celebrities as Conan O'Brien, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Danny DeVito. In 2016, it was voted #2 in America in the nationwide poll conducted by MSN.

“Brilliant!”
Reviewed January 2, 2014 via mobile

Stumbled across this place whilst exploring the area. So glad we did! Pizza was awesome and very reasonably priced. We were there early- about 11.45am and were one of the first people in the place, but within 15 minutes the place was packed with people waiting for tables. We had a pepperoni with garlic tomatoes pizza and pitcher of coke. Pizza base was thin and crispy and not overdone. Pepperoni was thinly cut and delicious and the garlic tomatoes were extremely tasty. We will definitely return on our next trip to Manhattan.

“It has gone downhill”
Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

I've been here on and off through the years and it is a tourist trap now. There wasn't a line and we walked in one what seemed like a busy evening. Tables were full and people were waiting. The benches are awkward, the interior hasn't been updated, and the restaurant is just inconvenient.

I asked for napkins and they gave one per person. The pizza was soggy and greasy. I was saddened, as I was introducing the joint to my daughter. Not a very good pizza spot now.
