Description: John's of Bleecker Street is a historic pizzeria founded in 1929 by Italian immigrant John Sasso. It serves quintessentially New York coal-fired pizza, famous for its perfect brick-oven baked crust and zesty tomato sauce. John's is still family owned and operated, and boasts such celebrities as Conan O'Brien, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Danny DeVito. In 2016, it was voted #2 in America in the nationwide poll conducted by MSN.

If you like pizza, look no further. This pizza is served piping hot coal fired oven with plenty of pizazz! The house merlot wine is good and you can get glass, half carafe or carafe. Service is quick and unrushed even though there is usually a short line outside. We went at 6:00 and there was barely a line however when we eft at 7:30 it was much longer. We had meatballs on half and sausage on other half. Additionally we ordered margarita pizza to enjoy and take home. I like te double rack presentation. Delicious then and later reheated in oven on pizza stone.

I went with friends and found the place a good night out. The pizza was good and with great thin crust. Very funky walls and artwork in rear room with interesting booths that look back out onto the street

if you love thin crust pizza with gooey cheese and slightly burnt edges, served in a time worn neighborhood gem with old wooden booths and a zillion initials carved into them, then you will LOVE, LOVE LOVE Johns on Bleecker. NO SLICES; pies only and no credit cards ---but very affordable. Great house salad with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and chopped lettuce--good house wines served in juice glasses. Wooden booth reminded me of Regina's in Boston. Service was excellent.
