Appetizers: goat soufflé – good, very light, very cheesy; duck spring rolls (2) – very good, duck good, nice sesame sauce; entrees – short ribs didn’t seem BBQ’d as listed, more like braised, OK but disappointed, scallops wrapped in fluke very good, large, properly prepared scallops tender, slightly underdone as I like them; desserts: flan was highlight, might be best I’ve ever had, passion fruit sorbet was good pairing—very tart ; parfait was good. Wine $9. Coffee $2.50 ea.Restaurant Week dinner $35. Service overly attentive—right down to 3 staff hailing cabs, setting was marvelous. Only “complaint” was check came very slowly after repeated requests (over ½ hr) so they didn’t rush you out and the place was full?! A bit pricey if not RW and they do suggest jacket but not everyone wore one. Soak in view, chill.

When I can't get out of Manhattan on a lovely Spring or Summer weekend, I love to come here.

The view of the East River, and of the boats coming and going, is truly spectacular -- and makes me feel like I have gone away for the weekend even though I am still in Manhattan.

The service is polite and professional -- and the food is very good. I particularly like to come here for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Their oysters and clams are outstanding, as are the cooked seafood dishes and broiled lobsters.

They also have a more casual outdoor cafe upstairs, open only during the summer months, that offers drinks and light meals at a lower price.

it was very poor food. Because the chef was the hole night at the dining room.

Everything about this place is outstanding. Admittedly, the prices are outrageous. However, the food is beyond delicious, they make even the most basic items taste great. The portions were large and very well presented. The service was incredibly attentive, but I never felt pestered or pushed to order more food by the presence of the waitstaff. The best thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere. The Water Club is located between the East River and the FDR drive, and you have to either take a cab there or walk there by crossing the FDR at 34th street. However, the restaurant itself is quiet with panoramic indoor views of the river on the first floor and outdoor dining on the second story.
