This continues to be my favorite NYC restaurant for dining with friends and enjoying great food, a terrific view, and quiet conversation. The food is reliably great. I had lobster, my usual. The staff, maître d and wait staff, are superb. There is valet parking, a great asset for an urban driver.

We were a party of 18, gathered together to celebrate a family member's 50th birthday. What a special day it was and what a special place, overlooking the East River on a sunny, cool October afternoon. The brunch was very good, an amazing array of food to tempt me away from my Weight Watchers diet (at least for a few hours). However, the star of the show, undoubtedly, was the ambience. The staff had arranged a lovely table, right over the water. I couldn't keep my eyes off the scene, the flowing current, the multiple bridges, and the UN complex, just ahead. The service was pleasant, without being "in your face," and the free valet parking was an unexpected treat.

I had sliced heirloom tomatoes as appetizer, followed by lemon roasted crisp chicken as entree. Chicken was roasted beautifully and quite moist. My daughter had lobster bisque, where they pour the sauce over the lobster. The soup was delicious and rich...She then had porcini crusted tuna, cooked slightly more than medium.
The portions were such we didn't have room for dessert.
Wait staff were attentive, and didn't find cost of dinner too far off from other restaurants.
Would definitely recommend, even for appetizer/drinks just for view of East River, Pepsi Cola sign in Queens, and UN building...

We have dinner here several times a year. It is fairly pricey but the ambiance is lovely. The restaurant is a barge on the East River. In the summer, there is some outdoor seating. I recommend the "Crow's Nest" which is the roof top of the barge. You can get drinks and light food there in the summer, during nice weather. In addition to the view, the atmosphere is calm and elegant. The noise level is low, so you can talk and enjoy your meal. It's not rushed. I recommend the lobster - they are famous for this. For dessert the bananas foster are fabulous (large enough to share) and profiterolles (little cream puffs stuffed with vanilla ice cream) are superb (also to share.) Free valet parking makes this an ideal location for those driving in for Queens or LI - just go through the Midtown tunnel and you're there.

Tried to order the lamb chops priced at $32 but waiter said actual price was $42. Hey, fellas, have you heard of laser printers to change your prices daily? What's with a 30% price increase when you're ordering?? So annoyed I instead had the mediocre trout served with anemic looking and worse tasting vegetables. My husband wanted the Dover sole but at 7PM that item was out. At one time my fave NY restaurant but.....
