Great neighborhood spot that flies below the radar. We love the salads, the helpful service and especially the whole grilled fish.

If you are looking for a good Greek restaurant on the UES this is the place that won't let you down. Don't be turned off by the construction going on outside on 86th street. Once inside you will be greeted by a willing an able staff with grea food. We had some questions about the wine and finally settled on a greek white wine that was dry and very flavorful. By the was the waiter who was great recommended the wine and gave us a tase before we ordered it. They start you off with a greek spread with pita bread that is really a nice touch. For an App I had a grilled calamari that was tender and really fresh over warm greens. My wfe had a salad that was dressed perfect. We then moved on to the entre. I had a braised lamb with orzo. Get it if you like braised lamb in a light tomato sauce. My wife had the skewered lamb with veggies. Both dishes were great. This is a welcome change to the regular spots on the UES.

Three of us showed up for dinner without a reservation at 9:30 p.m. on a Friday night. There was a short line, bustling service, and a shortage of wait staff. Regardless, the host seated us quickly and pitched in as a server to keep each table humming. That's the quality of service there, which felt like a proud family restaurant. The food didn't surpass other higher end Greek mediterranean restaurants in Manhattan, but it was in competition and earnestly so. What we enjoyed was the comfort of dining casually, the delicious seafood, yummy dips and al dente vegetables. It was fresh and filling without stuffing ourselves so late in the evening.

Very inattentive service coupled with everything overcooked this included fish, moussaka and everything else we ate. At least the manager was graceful enough to take the wine off our bill. His excuse was" they were very busy". Nothing more to say.

We dropped by at Ithaka on Halloween night for dinner and were lucky to get a table. At the moment this restaurant is hidden behind all the construction work going on 86th street. The restaurant is cozy and cute. Excellent suggestion of red wine from the host...landed up ordering two glasses even though we had no intention of drinking! We ordered a scallop and shrimp skewer and a chicken main course with onion and bell peppers. Excellent breads with interesting dip in olive oil. The sea food was excellent with all the flavours intact. The chicken was good and well made - I would not say excellent because it was a bit too chunky for my preference. We ended our meal with a great Greek coffee (which can keep you awake all night). We paid approx USD 70 for our dinner for 3 people and truly worth it! George is one of the nicest hosts we have come across in Manhattan. He makes you feel welcome and warms your heart on a cold October night. We have visited many restaurants in the city in the last 3-4 months but still haven't come across a host as nice as George. In a city where every second restaurant serves good food, it's this "service with a smile" that is going to make me keep going there again!
