Description: The Uncommons is Manhattan's first (and only) board game cafe, the best place in town to come to relax for a bit, by yourself or with the family. Combining a traditional coffee shop with a library of games to play in-store, we also feature hundreds of great gifts for sale, from puzzles to Cards Against Humanity. And we have 30+ craft beers available, as well as wine, champagne, and mimosas too! Free wi-fi, plenty of tables, and an events calendar with something fun just about every night, this NYU hotspot brings modern board games to an old space: updating the famous Village Chess Shop which had been in the spot for 40 years.

If you're a board game fanatic, The Uncommons is a fantastic place for you! $5 for unlimited play time ($10 unlimited or $5/hour on Saturdays) makes it a steal.

In addition, they offer a variety of microwaveable products that you know you shouldn't be eating (e.g. Bagel Bites), coffee/tea, and beer/cider (2 drink max).

There are games for sale as well (if you're looking for some fun to take home).

Fantastic little coffee shop with a massive selection of games. $5 to play all the games you want is great value, and the coffee and smoothie we ordered were both very tasty. Before going in I'd feared it might be full of uber nerds but (at least the afternoon we stopped in) there was a pleasingly diverse and friendly crowd in there. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in New York.

A well stocked game store/play space. Went with my kids and had coffee but could have had a beer from their small but well chosen selection of bottles. We played some new games, got tips from staff and walked out with a new game in hand.

The Uncommons is a coffee shop with big wooden tables and nice coffee which makes it a nice place for a break from hard sightseeing and a warming escape from cold December weather, so far so conventional, especially in Greenwich, NYC. What makes The Uncommons special is that it is all about board games - hundreds, maybe thousands of them - that you can borrow to play there or just look at with wonderment at how many there are. This is a great place just to have a coffee and enjoy being in somewhere quirky and offbeat and perfectly New York.

I went here with a friend on the recommendation of another friend. There's a )5 flat fee for unlimited game play with a huge selection. The staff are really friendly and the game selection is great. I had a small coffee (~$2.30) and my friend had a bottle of water (~$2). The coffee was fine, nothing special. We stayed for about 3.5 hours and played different games and hung out. Definitely worth coming out to as a hang out spot.
