Description: The Uncommons is Manhattan's first (and only) board game cafe, the best place in town to come to relax for a bit, by yourself or with the family. Combining a traditional coffee shop with a library of games to play in-store, we also feature hundreds of great gifts for sale, from puzzles to Cards Against Humanity. And we have 30+ craft beers available, as well as wine, champagne, and mimosas too! Free wi-fi, plenty of tables, and an events calendar with something fun just about every night, this NYU hotspot brings modern board games to an old space: updating the famous Village Chess Shop which had been in the spot for 40 years.

The Uncommons is a coffee shop with big wooden tables and nice coffee which makes it a nice place for a break from hard sightseeing and a warming escape from cold December weather, so far so conventional, especially in Greenwich, NYC. What makes The Uncommons special is that it is all about board games - hundreds, maybe thousands of them - that you can borrow to play there or just look at with wonderment at how many there are. This is a great place just to have a coffee and enjoy being in somewhere quirky and offbeat and perfectly New York.

I went here with a friend on the recommendation of another friend. There's a )5 flat fee for unlimited game play with a huge selection. The staff are really friendly and the game selection is great. I had a small coffee (~$2.30) and my friend had a bottle of water (~$2). The coffee was fine, nothing special. We stayed for about 3.5 hours and played different games and hung out. Definitely worth coming out to as a hang out spot.
