Description: Grand Central Oyster Bar is the ultimate experience for any seafood. Lover. From the market to your plate, we've spent nearly a hundred years perfecting our seafood dishes. Every morning, the chef goes to the New Fulton Fish Market to personally pick the day's freshest seafood. Everything from lobster to different kinds of fish is hand-picked for the best flavor and freshness. We're most famous for our oysters though, with over 30 different varieties on any given day. Have your dishes prepared minimally, or choose to have your meal in the form of a po' boy. Whatever floats your boat. To go with your Oysters, our extensive wine list has over 400 wines by the glass or bottle, 55 of which are priced under $38. We love sharing our great seafood, so we like to keep everything, including our prices, accessible. Come in for our Happy Hours (menu on website), where you and your friends can pick up some fresh food and drinks at prices so good it's fishy! Across our restaurant we have more than 450 tables across two dining rooms. Traditional experiences are supplemented by our saloon, which features a large bar. Instead, you could choose to sit at Oyster Bay, where you can watch your Oysters being shucked. The Grand Central Oyster Bar has always been a social experience, bustling with buzz, activity and a rich history. There is truly nowhere else like it!

“Best oysters ever!”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

We went to the I famous Grand Central Oyster bar on our recent visit to NYC. Having only had oysters in the UK, I thought they all tasted the same...How very wrong! The oysters were out of this world, they all tasted different and there were so many different types! Service was a little slow but it was heaving and great place to soak up the atmosphere. We loved it so much we returned just before our journey home to the UK. My favourite place in NYC!

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Have eaten at the Grand Central Oyster Bar a few times and I really enjoy the atmosphere and the vast choice of seafood on offer. The food is good and the value is varied depending on what you choose to eat. I had a seafood stew which was yummy and my partner had scallops which were big, juicy and delicious. The service was not as great as last time. It always surpises me in the US and especially in the NYC that your plates could be sitting in front of you dirty but because of the distinction of responsibilities between waiting staff they are not collected. I would defintely recommend the Oyster bar, it has a great feel to the place and is always lively and fun.

“What atmosphere!”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Such a feeling of history, culture and romance when you sit down here.

The service was impeccable - no questions for more bread, biscuits, water, snacks and wrong drinks changed within seconds - but that's NYC for you.

The oysters were excellent (i took a selection of 8 of 4 different types), as was the beer that went with it. The atmosphere is wonderful - very atmospheric. It was the perfect lunch after walking around Grand Central Terminal (also topped off very well by a Junior's cheesecake from around the corner in the terminal!)

“great old fashioned place”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Like the experience of sitting at the counter and ordering from an extensive, old fashioned menu. You feel like you are in a place that has been there a long time, in a good way.

“New York landmark”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

This is always a fun lively place for lunch or dinner. Sit at the counter and have their chowders or stews. The bar in the back is fun and a bit less noisy if you want to chat.
