Description: Ruby Foo’s brings the bold flavors of Beijing, Bangkok and Tokyo to Times Square in a big-box setting that is as boisterous as it Broadway neighborhood. Described as “imaginative” by New York Magazine, the 300 seat space and approachable Pan-Asian cuisine is perfect for dinner pre or post show, lunch with clients, brunch with kids, private parties, and any other occasion imaginable. People watch at a Broadway-facing table over pad thai, sample some of the best rolls in the neighborhood at the 20-seat sushi bar, share assorted dim sum at a banquet and finish with a Dessert Bento Box. Tight on time? Take freshly-baked theater treats like Chocolate Chip Cookies and Caramel Popcorn to go. Or, get sushi and dim sum delivered to your door!

This is a fun Chinese/Sushi restaurant in the Times Square/Broadway area. The decor is over the top and fun. There are plenty of choices on the menu. It was the perfect place to take our 9 year old before a Broadway show. The hot & sour soup was excellent, with big chunks of crab. The sushi is good and the dumplings and the lobster and shrimp egg rolls were delicious. The entrees were good, but not as good as the appetizers. Our waitress was outstanding! She was friendly, prompt and accomodated special requests right away. We really enjoyed ourselves here.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. The location was perfect for us to have dinner before the theatre. Actually we were in and out with 1 hour which we loved. We were hungry when we orderd and we really didn't want to sit in a huge restaurant when Times Square was at our fingertips!

The Edemame was a great deal! Large serving for $9.00. The dumplings were really hot and crispy on the outside but still tender and tasty dough. We really enjoyed the chicken lettuce wraps. My husband ate sushi rolls with cooked sea bass and found it fresh and tasty.

They did push drinks on us at the beggining ...like..."What can I get you to drink..Bottled water with gas, bottled water without gas, tap, or something else from the bar like a blah-blah sunrise.." We just ordered tap and smiled.

They have those little plastic connectors for the chopsticks for kids to use.

The acoustics in this restaurant was actually really good. We could hear ourselves perfectly but couldn't hear our neighbours.

When we made the reservation on opentable.com we made a note about my husband's allergy and this was taken note of and respected by the wait staff.

We went to Ruby Foo's May 30 on a recommendation for pre-dinner dining. This place is a factory. They are definitely more interested in turning over the table than offering good food. We had two appetizers - Duck spring rolls and Shrimp dumplings. Both were good - but nothing outrageous. We then each had a sushi roll - they were fun and different - but way overpriced. Our main courses were both very dissapointing. I had the 'fish and chips' - the fish was not crispy and greasy. The 'chips' looked like they came from the grocery store and had no flavor. The wasabi dipping sauce was so bland i think it was just plain mayo. My husband had the tuna special - the fish was bland - the 'lemongrass crust' was practically non-existant. We did order a dessert to share - the banana/chocolate spring rolls. They were tasty - and came with two dipping sauces - yet while i still had half a spring roll on my plate - the server came in and swooped up the dipping sauces!

We definitely felt rushed and ate basically 4 course meal in less than 90 minutes. It is a HUGE restaurant and there's just no way you can do great food serving that many people - and it shows.

we had a lunch at ruby foo-at 48 street and broadway, food is ok- good and good taste as well professional business- but we had a very rude service at the end, at the beginning of meal was taking care by one female server and so poor because she did by herself with 30 customers ?- and for my concern she did a terific job but not by herself , oh boy what was a cracy- we have to wait 25 minutes for one sweet because thid offer in the lunch $ 24.00- and it is offer, this moment the female server was dissappered for 20 minutes - and table of 4 -next to us having a problem with mis understanding in the order they started to asking questions what we see that moment 3-4 severs can not do anythings to this table for 20 munites,
we had been waiting for 20 munites for removed the main dish- peking duck, and we can not wait i did ask for check for three times and if your ruby foo management have camera to look after service - you can see, first the host or female floor supervisor walk to us and seem she will taking care some how she forgot and turned around to do some tihings esle, a few munites later a young male server came to us and I gave him a credit card to pay plus i did tell him about why I did not get a rublab tart sweet becuase is including in the menu-
and i do have all rights to asking because of in the pre fix lunch menu- please pay attention on this- he said every loud and so rude on his word , back to us" you want two free desserts-" I say yes only one because it is in the pre fix menu and I just want my rightr and I did not say anything back to him- only when I sign my slipcredit card - we did talked to how we feel about his attitude- by using TWO FREE DESSERT- we feel this resuarant having a bad training to using FREE- which is not true, We got up and even with out looking back those 2 free or not we did not care/ and will be the first time and last time for the ruby foo- food is good but you restuarant need to brush up with your servic mind?
